It's Not Too Late: How to Make the Most of What's Left of Ramadan?

The first days of Ramadan have passed quickly, and many of us may notice that we have not been able to implement our plans as we had hoped. Perhaps we started the month with enthusiasm, then found ourselves immersed in daily preoccupations, which made us postpone some acts of worship or perform tasks irregularly. But we still have time to make up for it and make the best use of the rest of the month.
If you feel that you have not achieved what you aspired to in the first half of Ramadan, this does not mean that the month is lost, but quite the opposite! Here are some mistakes you may have made, and how you can correct them from now on.
1. Lack of a Clear Plan
Perhaps you entered Ramadan without a clear timetable for what you want to achieve, or you set a plan, but it was not practical. It's okay, you still have more than half the month to reorganize your time.
What's the solution?
- Set simple goals for the rest of Ramadan. For example, instead of trying to read the entire Quran if you haven't started yet, commit to reading a specific portion daily until the end of the month.
- Use a paper or application to organize daily tasks, and reschedule goals that you have not yet completed.
- Do not set exaggerated goals, but make them achievable according to your available time.
2. Being Preoccupied with Life Tasks at the Expense of Worship
With daily responsibilities such as work, study, and taking care of the house, you may find that the time for worship has become limited, and perhaps you have only sufficed with prayer and fasting without focusing on other acts of worship.

How to Remedy This?
- Make acts of worship part of your daily routine. For example, dedicate time to reading the Quran after each prayer.
- Take advantage of waiting times or transportation in remembrance and seeking forgiveness.
- If you are very busy, try to perform small but continuous acts of worship, such as reading one page of the Quran daily instead of trying to read a lot at once and not continuing.
3. Wasting Time on Unproductive Things
The phone and social media may be among the things that steal the most time in Ramadan without us realizing it. Watching videos or browsing the news for long hours may leave you at the end of the day without any significant accomplishment.

The Solution?
- Reduce the time you spend on the phone, especially before and after Iftar.
- Use applications that set a specific time for you to use social media.
- Set yourself a short period daily to check the news or entertainment, but do not let it control your time.
4. Feeling Frustrated and Lazy
If you feel that the days have passed without any significant accomplishment, you may begin to lose enthusiasm and say to yourself: "It's too late!", but this thinking is what makes you lose the rest of the month.

How to Regain Your Enthusiasm?
- Remind yourself that the best days of Ramadan have not yet come! The last ten days are the golden opportunity to make up for what you have missed.
- Set a very small goal that can be achieved today, even if it is just reading one page of the Quran or performing two rak'ahs of Qiyam al-Layl.
- Remember that continuing, even with small steps, is more important than a strong start that does not last.
Conclusion
You still have a great opportunity to take advantage of Ramadan, even if you are not satisfied with its beginning. Do not dwell on regretting the past, but focus on improving what remains. Set a flexible plan, take advantage of wasted time, and start now, even with small steps. Who knows? Perhaps the best part of Ramadan is what you will live during the coming days!
